Our History
William Wallace & Son has remained a family owned and fully independent firm for well over 100 years. This century of experience allows us to provide a level of personal care that only a local family business can truly deliver.
Our long history is built on the simple promise of treating every family with the same integrity and compassion we would expect for our own.
Since it's start as carriage hire and delivery service in 1902, William Wallace and Son have been at the heart of their local community, serving West Kilbride, the Three Towns, Largs and beyond.
A great deal has changed since the firm began offering a funeral service to the local community, In that time, it has modernised and improved it's facilities and professional services to ensure that it more than meets requirements laid down by law and far exceeds the expectations of the people that it serves.

Professional Guidance Through the Generations
For over 70 years, our firm was run by William Wallace.
William (known locally as Billy) took over the business when he as 21, after completing his National Service. In partnership with his wife Barbara they developed and grew the business, meeting all the challenges and problems that small businesses face whilst still maintaining the highest level of service.
The goal has always been to use our generations of experience to relieve you of unnecessary burdens and make a difficult time a little easier.

Moving Forward
Billy passed away in 2025 and is survived by his wife Barbara and their two sons, John and Gordon.
Today, the firm is run by Billy's son, Gordon, in partnership with Barbara in the same premises where it began over 120 years ago.
Their fleet of vehicles includes a Mercedes Benz hearse which has been built on a very modern plug in hybrid. Other vehicles in the fleet are fully electric and the firm is committed to continuing improvements in sustainability.
